It has been a while since our last update but we are super excited to have found out we are finally at the front of the referral line! Things have been moving slowly but steadily in the last few months. Fortunately our adoption agency has been working with some new orphanage partnerships releasing children to be adopted internationally. So we could be getting a phone call any day now to be matched with Judah!!!
As soon as we do get that call we’ve been waiting for, then the real hard wait begins. We will finally get to know who Judah is and what s/he looks like but we will have to wait several months to get a court date and travel to Ethiopia. Depending on where Judah is living we may or may not be able to visit him/her during this first trip. After court we will travel home and wait for an Embassy date which will take another few months. After passing Embassy we will finally get to bring our baby Judah home. We have had a lot of practice being patient so I am sure we will make it through just fine!
On August 1st, we celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary! To celebrate we took a trip to Red Rocks in Colorado to attend a show of two of our favorite bands (Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket). It was such an amazing show and gorgeous venue. Although we have wanted to have a baby since the day we got married we have truly enjoyed the last five years of just being Drew & Maja (with a house full of furry kids). We are best friends and are truly blessed to have each other!
